THE Dimitris Melissanidis called its History Museum a source of inspiration, education and pride AEK in his speech on the sidelines of his inauguration and wished to create new generations of AEKtzis.
In detail what he stated visibly moved
“I welcome you with great pleasure to the opening of the AEK History Museum. It is a great moment for all of us, which coincides with the completion 100 years of glorious journey of our club. From today we start a journey through time. We discover and remember the milestones of history and the triumphs that defined the brilliant course of our team. In these 100 years, faith and struggle are our values. Everyone loves their teams, but we can’t live without ours.
THE AEK it is our destiny, our life and our history. It would be unfair not to mention that the light of the candle lit by the refugees will always burn in all three works. At the stadium, at the Museum of Hellenism and at the History Museum of AEK. Which is the house where we keep the living friends of AEK. Every exhibit of the Museum, every historical relic, every form of AEK that you will see, is a special life experience. It goes deep into the heart and soul of our club. It reflects the identity, ideas and principles that have guided AEK for a century and kept it standing in difficult times. Today we not only celebrate our past, we also embrace our future. Through our Museum, our precious heritage will be preserved and highlighted and new generations of AEKtzis will be born. We hope that the AEK Museum will be a source of inspiration, education and pride.
At this point I want to make a special mention and thank him Aged Gasparinato, for his significant contribution to the creation of our Museum. Without this custodian of AEK’s historical memory, we might not have been able to complete this project. Gerasimos will continue to be here and support the effort. It will have the General Directorate of the Museum. Also a big thank you to Ilias Papageorgiou’s team. As an administration we did what we promised. Stadium, second pitch for our Youth and two bright Museums. Two brilliant cradles of culture and sports. All with vision, love, stubbornness and above all housekeeping.
Both metal statues come, of Costas Nestoridis and his Mimi Papaioannou, which will be placed opposite the Official Gate, left and right of the lake with the waterfalls. This is how we close the whole circle of the “Agia Sophia” center, sports, memory and culture. I thank you warmly and invite you to walk the streets of AEK history, honoring her magnificent legacy».
