Monaco-Fenerbahce: For the reaction, the Monegasques, for the second break, the Turks

by

Act Two in the Principality…

Two 24 hours after the first game between them, the Monaco welcomes her Fenerbahce on “Gaston Medecin” (20:00, spor-fm.gr, Novasports 4) for Game 2 of the Euroleague playoffs series.

Last Wednesday, the Turks escaped with the double, making the break with… good evening of the series and taking home advantage from the very first match. In particular, despite being behind in the score for most of the match, Sarunas Jasikevicius’ team showed character in the final and celebrated the victory with 95-91 in overtime (81-81 the regular duration).

The main protagonist for the winners was Hayes-Davis with 19 points and 7 rebounds, with Nick Calathes to follow in performance with 17 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. For the home team who lost the upper hand early on, Okobo stood out (19 points), while the superstar of the team, Mike James finished the game with 16 points but with just 4/15 from the field.

From the very beginning of the playoffs, this particular pair seemed to be the most ambiguous, since Fener, despite the 6th place it occupied in the regular season, is playing one of the best basketball in Europe in recent months.

Tonight’s match is crucial for the development of the series, since in the event of another victory for the Turks, then they will have two match balls at home to book a place in the Berlin Final 4.

In racing, the Monegasques do not face particular racing problems. On the other hand, however, Fener has two big “headaches” to deal with, since extremely doubtful Scotty Wilbekin and Tarik Biberovic, while Jonathan Motley has been ruled out.

The series between them:

Game 1: Monaco-Fenerbahce 91-95 (24/04)

Game 2: Monaco-Fenerbahce (20:00)

Game 3: Fenerbahce-Monaco (01/05, 20:45)

Game 4 (if necessary): Fenerbahce-Monaco (01/05)

Game 5 (if necessary): Monaco-Fenerbahce (08/05)
