After Britain, the Ajun Ilijali also invests in Slovenian football!

As the Turkish businessman himself confirmed in an interview with the Slovenian media, he and his colleagues made the decision to invest in Maribor, a historic decision for the club, since for the first time in its history a foreign investor will be involved!

Still the details of the agreement have not been announced, however, official appointments are expected soon for this venture to begin and for the ‘purple’ to return to the top of Slovenian football.

Let’s remember that in recent years, Atjun Ilijali has been its co-owner Hull City, which competes in the Championship of British football.

“I was in Maribor last week, I really like the city, the stadium and the people who run the club”he said initially, to add that: “I also respect the other clubs, Moura is very successful, Olympia is a big name in Europe, but so is Maribor. In the end, you have to make a decision, we searched and thought for two months, but now I think the team and I decided that this is a real project with great fans, great people and a great city ».

At the same time, as the Turkish businessman himself pointed out, the fact that there is an airport near the city played an important role in his decision as he stated: “This is very important to me, because I travel all the time. A small airport, so that I can come and go and business does not suffer, is very useful for me. I’m crazy about football and I want to see as many matches as possible with my job, the location is very suitable for us.”
