He spoke about his approach to discussions between national teams and clubs, his experience with the Greek national team and the similarities between football in our country and that in Uruguay. Gustavo Poget.
The 56-year-old was hosted on the Uruguayan radio station, “Radio Sport 890”, emphasizing that he is open to everythingwhile adding that he had a specific proposal from the team.
“One dreams that the best opportunity comes first, but it doesn’t happen often, we’ll see what comes first“, he initially said and continued:
“I’m open to everything, but let’s say that in clubs I can be a bit more selective because logically there are more opportunities at club level than with national teams. I had a specific proposal, the rest were interesting encounters“, he pointed out, while regarding his experience in the “blue and white” he underlined:
“I really liked it, there was one contradiction which is that I had a much stronger relationship with the player. Visiting them, calling them, knowing about their families, their injuries, leads you to a closer relationship even though you’re not with them all the time, like when you work in a club“, added Pogetspeaking at the end about the details of the Greek footballer.
“The Greek is a very skilled player, who likes to have the ball and who plays with a lot of pressure. Maybe he lacks explosive speed, that player that exists in French or African football. Greek football has many similarities with Uruguayan football: tension, pressure and rivalry between the big clubs“, were the words of the experienced technician.
