Papanikolaou: “Olympiacos has a magic wand and always finds a way to get where it wants to be”

He shared his thoughts after qualifying for the Final Four of the Euroleague and what awaits him there Kostas Papanikolaou, with statements on Olympiacos TV. The captain of the Red Whites spoke about the way the team finds and overcomes difficulties, since his team Giorgos Bartzokas “booked” participation for a 3rd Final Four series.

For the 3rd consecutive Final Four: “Third in a row. Let’s see if it brings us something better. The truth is that the whole year has been one big roller coaster. At no point in the year have we been able to be all together and solid, to see what our ceiling is and where we can go. However, this group has a magic wand and always finds a way to be where they need to be, claim what they need to, and make their world happy. We succeeded and we are in another Final Four”.

For the team world: “People always follow, they are always by our side, they show their support. The first reason we always want to win is to please people. What we do, beyond the personal success of everyone, is to thank the world that comes, follows us, supports us even in difficult times. All this is the essence of sports. And being able to make them happy is, I think, something that fills all the kids in the locker room.”

For the kiss to Giorgos Bartzokas: “It was a very intense and difficult series. Obviously emotions are running high. I must have kissed them all, I mean it wasn’t something special about the coach. It’s normal when you’ve fought and worked hard all year – not to say that Barcelona didn’t work hard or didn’t deserve it – when you’ve been through a thousand waves, you know, all that tension comes out and I managed all that.”
