Among the athletes who will participate on Wednesday in the “Tracks”, the Olympic champions Christophe Lemaître and Adam Gemili stand out, whose participation gives a special “shine” to the Greek athletics meeting.

The program of the event will start at 17.00 (400m hurdles) and will end after 20.00 with the men’s and women’s 100m finals.

Christophe Lemaître and Adam Gemili were among the stars of the 200m race at the Rio Olympics. Usain Bolt won “gold” Olympic medal, Andre de Grasse won “silver”, while Lemaître and Gemili finished together in third place. The photofinish showed that Christian Lemaître passed the Briton by three millimeters and thus won the bronze medal. In the “Runs” they will not face each other, as Gemili will run in the 100 and the French in the 200 meters.

Adam Gemili has in his collection a gold, a silver and a bronze from 4X100 relays in world championships, four gold medals from Europeans (one in 200 and three in 4X100) while he was also world and European champion in 100 meters He competed in the Olympics of London, Rio and Tokyo.

Christophe Lemaître has also written his own history in athletics. In addition to the Rio Olympic bronze medal, he was also on the French team that came third in the 4X100 at the London Olympics. At the 2011 World Championships he was third in the 200 meters, while he also wore silver medals in the 4X100. “My goal is a technically beautiful race. I want to enjoy the race and everything else will come. For us Greek runners, it is important that such high-level meetings, such as the “Dromea”, are held in our country. We usually look for such competitions abroad in order to claim points for the world ranking. It is a very nice event, which gets better every year”, underlined the Greek champion.

In the men’s 4X100, Greece will take part with two teams. They will be made up of Giannis Nyfantopoulos, Sotiris Garaganis, Nikolas Panagiotopoulos, Vassilis Myrianthopoulos, Vassilis Papamargaritis, Giannis Kariophyllis, Orestis Chaidas and Giannis Voskopoulos.
