Brony James: ‘Playing in the NBA without thinking about my father – Not being known as his son’

His desire to compete in the NBA without thinking if he could play in the same team as his father spoke o Brony James.

LeBron’s son spoke after participating in the 2024 NBA Draft Combine, stressing that he wants let the world know him by his namecalling it great if he succeeds.

“I would be happy just playing in the NBA, not thinking about whether I could play on the same team as my father. That’s my reasoning. I’m trying to work and see where this takes me“, he initially said and continued:

“The nickname Brony was given to me when I was younger. But everything that follows my father, how people try to associate me with him and his legacy, what he accomplished… I haven’t accomplished anything yet.

I feel like there should be a separation between Brony and LeBron. Everyone has heard me say this before. I just want people to know my name is Brony James and not just refer to me as the son of LeBron James. I feel like that would be great».

Finally, he spoke about how he plays and with which NBA players has similarities: “Jrue Holiday (Celtics), Derrick White (Celtics) and Davion Mitchell (Kings). Just players who are great in their role, get paid well and play a lot because they are focused and know what they have to do».
