For the first time since 2019, the Fenerbahce returned to the Final Four and will face him in the semifinals Panathinaikos AKTOR (24/05, 19:00) for a place in the grand final.

The Turkish team organized a media day ahead of the top European basketball event, in which the Nick Calathes. The former player of the “clover” spoke about the course of Fener and also about the his emotional attachment with Panathinaikos ACTOR, while he commented on his great performance in Game 5 with Monaco.

In detail what he said:

On the road to the Final Four: “One of our first main goals was to qualify for the Final Four and we achieved that. We had a very difficult season, a lot of different things happened. Both the coach and the players are very happy. God bless, I’ve been very focused all season. The coach changed us after he came (sr. Sarounas Jasikevicius), of course I became better with him, he was someone who knew my style. We have a very good bond with the players, we are like a family. These are the things that make both us and the team successful.”

For the other groups: “They are all very good teams and deserve to be there. Panathinaikos played very consistently throughout the season and has very experienced players. On the other hand, there are Real Madrid and Olympiacos, two very experienced teams, so they will be difficult matches.”

On his terrible performance against Monaco in Game 5: “The match brought me there, in fact, it might have been the match in which I used the most three-pointers in my life. I have a lot of confidence and I work hard, so I think I can do it. If the Panathinaikos match goes the same way again, I will do the same. Our coach is very talented in such matters and reads the opponent’s game very well.”

For Panathinaikos: “I grew up there, played for about seven years. My heart will always be there, both basketball and emotionally. Greece is already my second home. I think it will be a great game because it will be a great environment for great basketball from both teams.”
