The PPC International Cycling Tour of Greece 2024 concludes today with the 5th and last stage of this year’s event, 132.54 kilometers long, which will be held entirely in Attica. The Acropolis, the Athenian Riviera and the circuit in the center of the capital will be the big “protagonists”, while in the Panathenaic Stadium, the finishing point, a big celebration for young and old will be set up with many and varied parallel actions.
The peloton will start at 10:30 in the morning under the Sacred Rock of the Acropolis and through Syggro Avenue will reach the beach, heading towards the Athenian Riviera (Old Faliro, Kalamaki, Alimos, Elliniko, Glyfada, Voula, Vouliagmeni, Varkiza, Vari and Agia Marina). Making a U-turn at Agia Marina, the athletes will return by the same route to the center of Athens, entering the 6.42 km long circuit, in which they will make ten turns.
The circuit is counter-clockwise, starting from the Panathenaic Stadium and passing successively through Vasileos Konstantinou, Hilton, Vasilissis Sophia, Panepistium, Aiolos, Stadiou, Vasileos Georgios, Amalia, Syngrou, Athanasios Diakos and Ardittos, to finish in front of the “Kallimarmaro” with a – logically – impressive mass sprint and after first the television image will have transferred to every corner of the world the monuments, sights and landmarks of the capital.
With the established awards to the great winner of the blue jersey, but also to those who distinguished themselves in the rest of the classifications and scores, the PPC International Cycling Tour of Greece 2024 will say goodbye to cycling friends, making an appointment for 2025!
