Volos: He proposed a new system for conducting playoffs – playouts and premiums from the new season!

Letter in the Super League but also to all the teams participating in the league, sent today (20/05) PAE Volosas it became known.

With the team of Magnesia, which notably has participated in both the playoffs and the playouts, to propose, among other things, the creation new way of conducting the two “mini leagues” and bonus specific teams!



The letter in detail:

“After the conclusion of the exciting 2023-24 championship, which many times highlighted as the most exciting in recent years, we believe that it is the most appropriate time to take advantage of the positive climate that is being formed and proceed with targeted changes, capable of bringing about the development result for the football we all want, like in the rest of Europe.

We must not, from the euphoric impressions of these moments, overlook and be indifferent to the bad texts of the last years that concern us all. Unfortunately the lack of reaction on our part has allowed astute people to consider football their shop by defaming it, creating huge problems, starting with discredit and defamation.

During the operation of the institution of play offs and play outs we had the opportunity to gain important experiences, which can lead us to some important changes, which combined with the joint effort of central management of television rights, can bring us closer to the public our goal for a championship worthy of our expectations.

A championship with the assurance of equality and equal treatment of all teams, so that its improvement can also be noted, so that it becomes more competitive, but also more attractive to investors, sponsors, fans, and television channels.

With regard to the changes we propose in the way the play offs and play outs are conducted, we suggest:

The champion will be determined through play offs involving the teams that finished in positions 1 through 4. In this two-round mini-championship, teams will start with the points they finished the regular season with.

The teams that in the regular season finished from 5th to 8th place compete in a different mini-league (two rounds), all starting from 0 points. At the end of the championship, the team that finished in 5th place either wins their exit to Europe, or 500,000 euros as a bonus, while the team that finished in 6th place wins 300,000 euros as a bonus.

Finally, the teams that finished the regular season in positions 9 to 14 to compete in the play outs in double matches and keeping the points of the regular season, from where the last two will be relegated.

In this way, indifferent groups will cease to exist.

We believe that with these changes, much, if not all, of what took place again this year and gave food to negative comments that only harm football, reduce its social appeal and acceptance, but also its commercial value and ultimately they come at the expense of those who truly love and serve it.”
