The Euroleague’s tribute to Olympiakos: “Now, it’s our turn to take it”

Initially, the video was spoken by Kostas Papanikolaou: “It’s like flying when you’re here. All the efforts and sacrifices from the season are finally paying off. It’s the same feeling as going to the Final Four for the first time. You can’t get enough. This is the sport. Love to play basketball. Want to stay at the same level for years and claim titles. I have been given this opportunity many times. It’s a blessing and I feel very lucky».

Then, the floor was taken by Thomas Walkup: “It was a long, dramatic season. We finally found our rhythm in the last stretch of the season and carried it into the Playoffs. For the Final Four, that’s what we’re playing for. This season has had a lot of ups and downs. There were periods when we played very badly and had injuries. Through it all, our fans have stood by us. We should have won the final with Real last year. We didn’t make it. Nobody was happy. But we are here again with the same mentality. We went there, we tried and now it’s time to win».

And finally, O George Bartzokas emphasized: “It was a really interesting experience for the whole club. Of course, I can also say very emotional. We had so many injuries, so many problems. Basketball is unpredictable. You can do everything, be 100% successful and lose the match. Last season it was like this. We are confident in ourselves and we are confident that we will be very competitive in the semi-final».
