From next Friday to Sunday, the leading sumo event in Europe, namely the European Championship, will be held in Loutraki. This is a very big bet undertaken by the Greek Federation, as 400 athletes from 15 countries will compete.
In total, Greece will be represented in 33 categories and the championships will be held in the age categories of men, women, U23 and U21.
The men will compete: Vassilis Tsiriclos, Vangelis Blatsios (U70), Nikos Tsoulakos, Christos Raftogiannis (U85), Thodoris Pokas (U92), George Kyriakopoulos (U100), Alexandros Zoralti, Telemachos Tragoustis (U115).
The women will compete: Artemis Stasinopoulos (U55), Eftychia Papadeli (U60).
The U23 men will compete: Ilias Karnavas, Iosif Nicolaidis (U70), Nikos Ginis (U77), Arion Kolosentas (U100), Thodoris Michaelidis (U115), Alexandros Ismail (+115)
In the U23 women’s category, Egi Rotsi (U55k.), Drosoula Tsianakopoulou (U73k.), Kyriaki Kartanou (U 75k.) will fight.
In the U21 men, the following will compete: Iosif Nikolaidis, Giorgos Lolis (U65), Ilias Karnavas, Dimitris Karachristos (U70), Nikos Ginis (U77), Arion Kolosendas (U100), Thodoris Michaelidis (U115), Alexandros Ismail (+115kg) and in the Open category Thodoris Michaelidis, Alexandros Ismail.
Finally, in the U21 women’s category, Egi Rotsi (U55k.), Drosoula Tsianakopoulou (U73k.), Kyriaki Kartanou (U 75k.) will fight.
