Alimos took third place and made history

Big moments for Alimos. The southern suburbs team defeated Ethnikos 10-9 in “Papastrateio” in the second “minor” final of A1 women’s polo, made it 2-0 in the series and took third place in the league for the first time in the short history as a club, leaving Piraeus in fourth place, with both having secured a European “ticket”.

Alimos was leading steadily and reached 5-1 in the first half. Ethnikos was down 8-7 at the end of the third period, but the visitors scored a 2-0 run for 10-7.

In the final minutes, the “blue and white” reduced to 10-9 with 3′:41” left, but were unable to send the match to penalties. In the last attack of Ethniko, Mihailovic’s shot was stopped on the post.
