Congratulations to Panathinaikos AKTOR for winning the Euroleague Nikola Milutinov after the victory (84-71) of Olympiakos over him Pigeon bwin.
The Serbian center added that the “greens” were the best team in the Final Four. He explained why there should be no disappointment regarding the course of the Piraeus.
In detail what he said:
“The previous two years were a disappointment for Olympiakos. The difference was that we didn’t go to the final or because Panathinaikos won the title? Being in a Final Four is quite an accomplishment, so many great teams have failed to do so. I would like to congratulate Panathinaikos because they were the best team in the Final Four and deserved to win. I speak honestly and clearly.
It’s a shame people think it’s a disappointment because being in a Final Four is never a disappointment. How many teams have a bigger budget than us? Some high quality players. Just being there is a huge success for the teams.
It’s two games, anything can happen. We didn’t play well against Real and they gave everything. Unfortunately we didn’t have the patience to get back into the game but it can happen. We will work hard next year, convince ourselves to be better and succeed.
But it’s not a disappointment. If we didn’t qualify for Berlin, maybe that would be considered a disappointment because Olympiacos would have been there in previous years. We fought back when everyone said we wouldn’t do it, trailing 2-1 in the series against Barcelona when they said it was over because we didn’t have the home advantage either. We showed ourselves. Real Madrid were better than us in that game. This is sport, we must congratulate them.”
