On Sunday, Natalia Rybanska became a member of Alimos. The team from the southern suburbs announced the acquisition of the 24-year-old Slovakian-Hungarian international defender-fundamentalist for the next year, in order to strengthen in Greece and Europe.
In detail, the announcement:
“ALIMOS NAS Betsson is very happy to announce the acquisition of the athlete, Natasha Rybanska, who will wear the club’s cap in the upcoming season in Greece and LEN Champions League.
Natascha Rybanska was born on April 10, 2000 and has been a key member of the Hungarian national team for six years, while she comes from Slovakia, where she started her water polo career. She is 1.90m tall and can play both as a defender and as a striker, while she undoubtedly has the ability and technical characteristics to create space at both posts in situations with a numerical advantage.
In previous years, Natascha Rybanska has competed for UVSE, with whom she recently won the Hungarian championship, while with the Hungarian national team she has achieved enormous success, culminating of course in winning the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
In her collection she also has two silver medals at world championships (Budapest 2022, Doha 2024) and a bronze at the 2020 Pan European Championships.
In her first statements, Natascha Rybanska told alimoswaterpolo.com: “I have competed in UVSE since 2018 and won championships and Hungarian Cups and even a Euro Cup in 2023. I am very grateful to my team and all the coaches and teammates who I had them teach me everything I know. However, I believe that I have come full circle there and I have the desire to experience something new and conquer new challenges. I think that in order to progress as an athlete and as a person, a change of environment is necessary.
I follow ALIMO NAS Betsson in the LEN Champions League and the Greek league. I think he gave an excellent performance in both. They have beaten many teams even when the odds were not in their favor. Most importantly, even when they weren’t winning, they fought with their hearts and were a true opponent every time. Honestly, I love the ‘warrior’ spirit I see in ALIMOS NAS and I think I’ll fit right in. That’s what really inspired me to come to the club: The spirit and character of the team and the family environment. It’s a team of amazing athletes, with stars, with younger athletes who have potential and work so well together. ALIMOS NAS improves every year and tries to become the best.
I look forward to joining the team. I have high expectations and the club has too and I like this challenge. Honestly, I couldn’t be more excited and I really feel that ALIMOS NAS is the best choice for me and the most ideal place for me to grow. I will give all my strength for ALIMOS NAS Betsson so that they feel the same about me and at the same time I will try to prove to them that I was the best choice for the team when the season ends next year.”
