Shortly before midnight on Thursday and almost 24 hours after the event was made public, the Undersecretary of Sports, Lefteris Avgenakis appeared and made a statement about the vandalism of the car of the appellant – member of the Arbitration Court of the EPO.
Mr. Avgenakis speaks of a “drop that overflowed the glass” and calls on the international football authorities to intervene “to overcome the situations of anomaly”. He notes that the state will not be left out.

«The intimidation of the President of the Court of Appeals of the Administrative Courts – through the destruction of his car – and his subsequent resignation as a member of the Arbitration Court of the EPO, is the drop that overflows the glass in what has been distributed in the Football Federation lately.
The Government, through the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in close cooperation with the President of UEFA, Alexander Cheferin, and the Vice President of FIFA, Greg Clark, envisioned a new era of modern operation, with transparent procedures, for Greek football, hoping that the of the Holistic Study in the Statute of the EPO would mark the new beginning.
Instead, the Harmonized Study and the modernized Statute are ignored for months, the resignations of healthy footballers follow one another, the competent courts reject scandalous administrative decisions and the devaluation intensifies with a geometric progression.
The Greek Police and the Judiciary will play their full role in the face of the phenomena of lawlessness and terrorism.
But it is also a time of responsibility for the football authorities above: Time for FIFA and UEFA to defend the Holistic Study, to guarantee and implement the obvious in order to overcome the situations of anomaly. With the State as an ally that will not be left out “.
