The athlete anxiously watched the second group, in the stands of Olympico, and when in the last shot he realized that he had qualified, he burst into celebrations. The athlete even burst into tears, as today was one of the most important moments of his career.
Michalis was one place behind him Anastasakis, who in his fourth participation in the event had a better throw of 73.60 meters. The athlete started with 70.80 m and in his third attempt achieved 72.55 m.
“I hope I can qualify for the final. I felt good. It came out on the first shot and then I got tight. Then I tried to drop even more yards and failed. I tried to fix it in the last shot, but with such big groups we can’t be active for so long and I finally lost it”, emphasized Zaltos.
On the other hand, Anastasakis stated: “I am not pleased. Many technical errors in the valve. The power this year has gone to God. But the technique doesn’t work for me. That’s the point. I want to change a lot of things. The point is to find on the valve. I feel good but I have lost the technique. Head down and work for Paris».
