The match:
The grand final of Roland Garros started in the most disruptive way, as both the two tennis players they broke with… good morning on the opponent’s serve for 1-1! Alexander Sverev then easily made it 2-1, with Carlos Alcarath to answer immediately for the new equalization. In fact, the 21-year-old Spaniard was stormy afterwards, as with beautiful winners he succeeded and conquered the 8 of the next 9 points, which resulted in him making his second break of the set, holding his serve as well for 4-2! Despite all the efforts of the German, Alkarath was “flying” on the clay court of “Philippe-Chatrier”, advancing to another break (Sverev’s 3rd in 5 service games), conquering it first set with characteristic comfort 6-3 in 43 minutes of the match!

The scene was completely different in second setwhere the Alexander Sverev, not only reacted to Alkarath’s attacking play, but also brought the match to his feet. Driving the Spaniard into many and effortless mistakes and having excellent percentages in points from his 1st and 2nd serve, the world No.4 completely dominated the court reaching draw and 1-1! It is typical that the German reached break point 7 times – taking advantage of both of them – while the Spaniard never entered such a condition! Putting suffocating pressure on Alkarath’s serve throughout the set, but also closing two of his own serves with love games, Sverev won the 2nd set with relative ease (6-2)!

His start was quite balanced third setwith both tennis players paying close attention and emphasis to their service games, going so tied at 2-2, with Zverev even having two love games! Alcarath then made it 3-2, before the Spaniard took it with a love game break (!). “air” two games (4-2)extinguishing immediately after two breaks of the German and conquering his serve for 5-2!

And while the young Spaniard was one… breath away from winning the set, o Zverev with tremendous composure and consistent strokes across the lengths and backs of the court, beat all five next games (!) – two breaks – making the total reversal, conquering it third set with 7-5 for 2-1!

And while the momentum clearly showed… Zverev, the child prodigy of world tennis, not only did not buckle under the pressure, but responded in the most emphatic and impressive way! In particular, Carlos Alcarath, even though he found himself with his back to the… wall, did not “chew” and playing excellent and highly aggressive tennis, he broke in all three service games of the German (!), winning the fourth set 6-1 with a walkequalizing at 2-2 and sending the grand final to a tie break!
