The National categories of table tennis of France are the interclub championships from the third to the fifth category of the country, in which many Greeks participate every year and bring out their competitive quality.
The competitions in the second phase of the competitions ended in May and, after some time, the play-offs were held for the National 1 teams who were competing for promotion, as well as for teams who had already secured promotion from the next two divisions and were simply playing for ranking.
From this process emerged the two main news about the Greek “displaced”. Giorgos Konstantinopoulos and Yiannis Sgouropoulos first became champions in National 1 with Havre 1 and celebrated promotion to the second professional League, the so-called Pro B.
Also, Stratos Damianis celebrated securing participation in next year’s National 2 with Saint-Denis 2. In the playoffs they were placed 5-8, but already the participating teams had achieved promotion and extra matches were formalized to get out the National 3 champion from all groups.
In general, the Greek athletes who competed at all levels of the specific categories were less than 20 this year. In addition to the aforementioned, there were also Konstantinos Konstantinopoulos, Tasos Riniotis, Nikos Antoniadis, Yiannis Vlotinos, Gerasimos Hatzilygeroudis, Zisis Doukeris, Dimitris Kordoutis , Giannis Boskovits, Konstantinos Lykostratis, Sokratis Giannoutsos, Giannis Papadakis, Elisavet Terpou, Konstantina Paridis, Aliki Kioufi and Daniela Grammatopoulou-Chrysopoulou.
