Statements to Mundo Deportivo were made by Lamine Yamal and so referred to his departure Xavi from Barcelonaas well as in his recruitment Hansie Flick.
The 16-year-old ace of the “Blaugrana” noted about his former coach that he was sad when he left, while he also mentioned some things that the Catalans need to change ahead of the new season.
His statements:
On Xavi’s departure: “It was a very strange moment. At first it went away, then it stayed… It was strange, because we saw the same thing that you see. Very sad because for me he was the first top manager I ever had, but these are things that happen in football.”
To hire Flick: “When he was at Bayern, that was the last thing I saw. And also in the German team. He has a pretty aggressive game, pretty direct. I’m really optimistic. I haven’t spoken to him, I guess I’ll see him when I get back and we’ll have a little chat.”
On what Barcelona need to improve in the new season: “The lack of consistency we’ve had at times this year. From scoring one goal and conceding another, or from going into the second half and suddenly conceding two goals against us. That’s the only thing we need to improve on, because from you to you I think we can compete with any team in the world.”
