Van de Viver announced PAOK

Ilka Van de Viver will compete in the PAOK women’s volleyball team next season. The “two-headed” announced the signing of the Belgian international passer for next year, to strengthen the passing to claim the high places in the next Women’s Volleyball League.

The 31-year-old last season played for Romanian Voluntari, with whom she won the championship.

In detail, the announcement:

“PAOK and the women’s volleyball department announce the start of cooperation with the athlete, Ilka Van de Viver, for the 2024-2025 season.

Born in Belgium on 26/01/1993, Ilka Van de Viver plays as a passer and is 180cm tall.

She started her professional career in the 2009-10 season with Asterix Kildrecht, with whom she won the domestic double, while competing in the final of the CEV Women’s Challenge Cup. At Asterix Kildrecht he had two more competitive seasons (2010-11 and 2011-12), adding two Belgian championships, a Cup and a Super Cup.

The 2012-13 season found her in France and more specifically in Cannes. In her first season in the French league, she won the domestic “double”, while also competing in the quarter-finals of the leading European interclub competition, the CEV Women’s Champions League. He remained in Cannes for the next two seasons (2013-14 and 2014-15), adding two French championships and a Cup.

He started the 2015-16 season in Italy with Bisonte Firese, where he stayed in the first half. In the second half he played in Slovenia on behalf of Chalcit Volley, with whom he won the championship and also the MEVZA league. He remained at Chalchit Volleyball in the 2016-17 season.

In the 2017-18 season he played in Germany and more specifically in Wilsbiburg, where he remained in the season (2018-19), gaining even more experience from a very strong league, such as the Bundesliga.

The following two years (2019-20 and 2020-21) he played in Romania with Targoviste, to return in the 2021-22 season to Germany, this time on behalf of Allianz Stuttgart. With Allianz, she won the double in Germany, while competing in the final of the CEV Women’s Cup.

In the 2022-23 season he played in Turkey and Sigorta Shop in the first half, to return to Romania and Targoviste, in the second half.

Last season (2023-24) he played with the Voluntari jersey, with which he won the Romanian championship.

He is an international with the Belgian national team, having as a milestone the silver medal in the European Golden League, in 2013 and the bronze medal in the European Championship in the same year.
