Evangelos Doudesis remains steadfast on the bench of the national women’s polo team of the Netherlands. The Greek technician renewed his cooperation with the “Oranie” for the next four years, already making his calls to Paris.

The Greek coach will be in the “land of tulips” until the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028, having led the “oranges” to the top of the world and Europe and now looking for an Olympic medal.

“I didn’t have to think much about the federation’s proposal if I wanted to remain coach of the national team for the next Olympic cycle. The answer was simple: ‘I’m happy here, so yes! I am pleased and grateful and also consider it an honor. I love this job and this place. I still experience as much energy and fun as I did in 2015 when I was at Zeist for the first time to coach the Dutch Juniors under 17s.

Together with the players and my colleagues in the staff, we will continue to work with the same dedication and the same sense of responsibility in the coming years to make our beautiful sport even more”, emphasized the Greek coach.

During his tenure, the Netherlands have celebrated bronze at the 2022 World Cup in Budapest, silver at the 2023 World Cup in Los Angeles, gold at the Fukuoka World Cup and first place at the European Championships in Eindhoven.
