In the final of the 4X100m. mixed team women’s national team

With her participation of the women’s national team in the final of the 4X100m. mixed teamthe curtain will fall on the European Swimming Championships, in Belgrade.

The women’s team, with Nora Drakou, Chara Angelaki, Georgia Damasioti and Marilia Drasidou, was ranked third in the preliminary with 4:06.21 and will compete at 20:46 in the final, having of course the disadvantage that two athletes (Damasioti, Drasidou) swim earlier in individual finals, while for the 32-year-old Drakou the evening race will be the 10th in organization. Fastest in the morning were Hungary with 4:04.30 and Poland with 4:04.44.

On the contrary, the corresponding men’s baton failed to qualify for the final, as it lined up with… an experimental composition. Apostolos Siskos, Giorgos Aspougalis, Tasos Kougoulos and Andreas Vazaios finished in 3:39.99 and were 9th and out of the final, unless one of the eight finalists withdrew.

In total, the program of the finals of the 7th and final day includes nine Greek entries with many medal expectations.

In order, they will compete: Kristian Golomeev and Stergios Bilas in the 50m. freestyle (19:30), Marilia Drasidou in the 50m. breaststroke (19:35), Apostolos Christou and Vangelis Makrygiannis in the 100m. backstroke (19:40), Georgia Damasioti in the 200m. butterfly (19:46), Daniil Yourtzidis in the 200m. mixed individual (20:07), Dimitris Markos in the 400m. freestyle (20:23) and the women’s 4X100m team. mixed team (20:46).
