Olympiacos: Found Gustavao’s replacement in Gaziani!

Just a few hours after “goodbye” to Gustavao, Olympiacos announced the replacement of the Brazilian central, ahead of the new competitive season.

Specifically, the “red and white” announced the start of their collaboration with Mahdi Djelve Ghaziani, by 23 year old Iranian international central coming off an excellent season in Turkey in their jersey Fenerbahce.

“OLYMPIAN S.F.P. announces the start of his collaboration with Mahdi Djelve Ghaziani. The Iranian international center (born 21/5/2001, 2.08m) signed his new contract and joins the roster of the club’s Men’s Volleyball team.

Last season, the 23-year-old center played for the first time away from Iran, specifically, in Turkey, with the Fenerbahce shirt, with which he reached the semi-finals of the CEV Cup, finishing third.

From the start of his career until 2023, Ghaziani played for four teams in Iran, making great plays. In the 2020-21 season, he won the Asian championship and the Iranian championship (Iran Super League), with Foolad Sirjan Club, while he was also named the top center in Asia! In the following season, Ghaziani was voted the best center back of the Central Asian league and the Iran league.

He is a key member of the Iranian National Team, with which he has won the Asian Championship and the gold medal in the Asian Games, as well as two silver medals (Asian Cup, Central Asian Championship). With the National U19 and U21, Gaziani was named World Champion in 2017 and 2019 and Asian Champion with the U20 in 2018.

Mahdi Djelve Ghaziani’s statement: “Hello everyone.
