THE Michalis Lountzis and Nikos Hugaz were the players that Vassilis Spanoulis decided to “cut” last in order to produce the final twelve of the National Basketball Association for the Pre-Olympic Tournament which will take place at SEF (July 2-7).
The two players bid farewell to the team, listening to them thanks for their substantial participation in the work up to now, as well as the assurance that they remain members of the National Team since the process is long-term and not a single event.
The 12 who will have the right to participate in the Pre-Olympics are Tomas Walkap, Giannoulis Larentzakis, Dimitris Moraitis, Vassilis Toliopoulos, Nick Kalathis, Panagiotis Kalaitzakis, George Papagiannis, Vassilis Charalambopoulos, Kostas Papanikolaou, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Costas Antetokounmpo and Dinos Mitoglou.
At the end of the training there was also a double… mini celebration, in honor of the physiotherapists, since Tolis Karatzas has his name day and Nikos Gonatas has a birthday.
The National team begins its duties in the Pre-Olympic Tournament on Wednesday at 21:00 against the Dominican Republic, while on Thursday at the same time it faces Egypt. Even a win will be enough for her to qualify for Saturday’s semi-final at 17:30, where if she wins she will claim her ticket to the Olympics on Sunday at 21:00.
