Honorary Doctorate of the business administration program at the Massachusetts Naval Academy, the owner of PAE Olympiacos was announced, Vangelis Marinakis.
“I am honored to receive this doctorate from the best naval academy. I studied Business Administration and Finance, but shipping has always been my passion. For many of us in Greece, the sea is our joy, our life and we are very close to it. It is a small country in the Mediterranean, but this small country has the largest merchant navy in the world. For me the sea, shipping, the shipping industry has never been just a job or a business opportunity, it is a passion and a very big love, and in life there is nothing better than being able to follow your passion throughout route”said the boss of Piraeus among others.
In fact, during the opening ceremony the anthem of Greece was also played, while Mr Vangelis Marinakis he was the only non-US citizen among the honorees.
“I showed up this morning and saw the Greek flag flying in front of the school. And I’m like, God, is this for me? Knowing that I am the only Greek here. It was a great surprise to see Mr. Marinakis here and I am really proud to be here”said on his part o Dimitris Georgopoulosa graduate of the Massachusetts Naval Academy.
