Probably no one doubted that the solution would be found, but now it is official. THE UEFA gave the green light to Manchester City and Manchester United participate in the new season in the same inter-club competitions as the clubs associated with them by ownership, the Girona and Nis respectively.
The European Football Federation’s governing body reported on Friday (07/05) that the necessary changes have been made to the status of the Spanish and French teams, with the influence of ownership being reduced.
It is recalled that City and Girona belong to the City Football Group, while Ineos controls the operations in United and Nice.
However, it has now become clear that the coexistence of both in the Champions League and Europa is allowed, with the “red devils” however not being able to to acquire a player from the Nice club.
BREAKING: UEFA confirms Man Utd and Man City can play in the same European competitions as sister clubs (Nice and Girona respectively) next season after “significant changes” to investments.
