In a game that started with a delay of one hour and 22 minutes(!) due to intensity caused outside the field. In particular, dozens of Colombians tried to enter without a ticket, with the police forces restraining them. Quite a few of them were seriously injured. Therefore, some ports were closed for a while. That’s why an extension was given for the center, so that all those who had a ticket could enter (the information says that many managed to enter without a ticket).

The match:
Excellent pace at the start of the match. The one that entered the strongest was Argentinawhich threatened just in the first minute with Alvares. “Albiceleste” stayed high to press, having a new moment with a “beat” by Taliafiko in the opponent’s area.
However, very quickly Colombia not only did he start shouting “present” but he also created a lot of opportunities. In fact, Nestor Lorenzo’s team, after warning in the 5th minute with Dias’ lukewarm shot, then in the 7′came a breather from 0-1: O Cordoba without having called for balance, he caught something like a spin shot, with the ball hitting the right beam and get out!
Colombia continued to create conditions that were clearly more threatening, with Argentina temporarily in a defensive phase. The pace remained very good, while… they also entered the game the Copa America level tackles and duels and, namely, Argentina’s match against Colombia.
However, the tempo slowly started to drop, a lot. Essentially, from the second half of the half until the break, a period in which we had very little: A one-piece finish from Messi in the 20th minute which he countered, a long shot by Lerma in the 33rd minute that Martines tiptoed away and a header from Taliafikos in the 44th minute.
In between, at 36′The Messi he raced into the opponent’s area, coming out with the ball. At the end of the phase, however, he stayed fallen to the ground appearing to be in a lot of pain.
After half-time, during which Shakira sang, the two teams returned with no changes and Lionel Messi gritting his teeth and carrying on as usual.
A second part that also started at a very good pace. Consecutive phases for both teams. First threat from Arias in the 46′ and response in the 49′ from Argentina with a full-time phase and Di Maria’s shot that received the “stop”. In the 54th minute, Sánchez’s header after a corner for Colombia went over the crossbar, while in the 58th minute, a new phase of the season developed for the Albiceleste. And that ended with Di Maria’s shot, with the Argentines protesting strongly for a penalty and Cuesta’s hand after McAllister’s header.
To get to the middle of the second half, when o Messi he fell to the ground, this time grabbing his bicep. The leader of the “Albiceleste” could not continue, leaving in tears and in the midst of apotheosis from teammates and fans, in shocking moments. Nico Gonzalez came in his place in the 66th minute, who would then have great opportunities for his team.
However, the misfortune did not stop there for Argentina, as after a while Lionel Scaloni proceeded to second forced changewith Molina replacing the struggling Montiel.
In the 75th minute, Argentina found the back of the net, but the goal was rightly ruled out for offside as Tagliafico was exposed before turning to Nico Gonzalez.
We had now entered the down the stretch, when Argentina… took actionhaving two missed opportunities, both with him Nico Gonzalesat 88′ and at 90’+3′.
Nothing changed until the final, with the game going to overtime (the first in this year’s Copa America, since it only existed in the grand final).
Argentina continued from where they left off at the end of normal time, taking the initiative of the movements in the first minutes of extra time. In the 95′, he had a great phase, with De Paul making the turn from the right, Nico Gonzalez catching the one-piece shot and Vargas blocking before the ball crossed the line.
