Gareth Southgate has tendered his resignation from the England national team after losing their second successive European Championship final to Spainon German soil.
This means that the FA, the English Football Association, is looking for the next man to take over this… special bench of the “three lions”. Understandably, a big name is being sought, with the “Independent” even revealing a piece of news that would be a resounding “bombshell” if confirmed!
Specifically, the British newspaper reports that the FA wants to do the ultimate… grosso trick, hiring for England’s bench Pep Guardiola! In fact, she is willing to be patient until 2025when his Catalano contract with City expires, going until then with an official.
Of course, this scenario is very difficult to realize, as it is not a given that the Guardiola will leave City at the end of his contract, nor that he will decide to take charge of the national team for the first time in his career.
