Rise, first place and playoffs for the Women’s National Team!

THE Women’s National Team won 3-2 the Montenegro in Podgorica and, in an emphatic way, he achieved all the goals he had set in the first qualifying phase of EUROi.e. the first in its group, the promotion to League B and the (guaranteed from Friday) participation in the next round of the event.

Greece’s six-game unbeaten streak in European Qualifiers closed impressively in the seat of its main rival and of course there is no doubt that the natural position of the “blue and white” is among the teams of the upper group of potential.

In the last match of the group before knowing its opponent in the 1st phase of the play-offs (Friday 19 July, 14:00 Greece), the National entered the field powerfully and from the 6th minute took the lead after a cross from Mitkos and a header from Kongoulis, who had also opened the scoring in the immediately previous game with Andorra. In the 24th minute, it was Spyridonidou’s turn to send the ball into Krstovic’s net with a shot from outside the area (2-0).

In the second half, his players of Montenegro they tried to bring the game close to the Greek goal and threaten Giannakoulis, but neither the goalkeeper of the national team nor her teammates were able to budge, thanks to their effective defensive function. In the 62nd minute, in fact, Greece managed to extend the score with the Turnip (3-0) and essentially put an early end to the match, which ended with two goals by Montenegro and Bulatovic in particular, both with penalties! The first at 90’+4′ with a strict decision to overturn Kouts and the second at 90’+8, which was accompanied by the dismissal of Kakabuki.
