Major European leagues sue FIFA over ‘inflated’ football players’ calendar

Determined to go against FIFA by filing a joint lawsuit are the world association of professional football players as well as the organizing authorities of the major European leagues, including the Premier League and La Liga.

According to the information, the reason for this reaction is the fact that FIFA has inflated the annual calendar to the extent that the health of the footballers is at risk.

In particular, the professional football players and the organizing authorities of the leagues make decisions without taking into account the opinion of the association of professional football players about the introduction and other matches during the season in order to receive more revenue. They point out that FIFA acts as an instrument that reaches the point of abusing the rights it has towards the players, to a point of exploitation by putting together a calendar that is quite tiring for the players who are already saturated by the many games.

The organizing authorities accuse FIFA of harming the health of the footballers, while they have also been affected as the footballers have no endurance with the long international calendar of matches that it organizes.

A clear example of this was FIFA’s decision to increase the number of teams taking part in the World Cup.
