Dountounaki: “My goal is the individual record”

Shortly before the race, Anna Dutunaki spoke to the Athenian – Macedonian News Agency about her race and her goals for the Olympic Games.

Anna Dountounaki’s interview with APE-MPE:

-Anna, the big moment has arrived. How did your preparation go and in what condition are you?

“The preparation in the last month has gone very well. For my part, I did the best I could and I am quite satisfied. I hope that the effort I have made will show in the match as well”.

-What are your goals?

“I definitely want to set a personal record. This is what I have in mind and that is why I have come. Now this, we’ll see where it can lead me.”

-At the recent European championship, Greek swimming “wrote history”. Is it time to “write History” at the Olympic Games as well?

“In general, we are certainly a strong enough team. This is also shown by the number of people who make it up. In the Olympic Games, everything is open and I hope that we will all be on our best day and that a very good result will come.”

-What message do you want to send to those who are waiting for you to compete?

“Thank you very much to everyone for their support over the years. The love and support I have received I never imagined would happen to me. I am truly grateful. May everyone be well.”
