The women’s national volleyball team got the revenge from Switzerland

The National Women’s Volleyball team leveled the friendly series, winning 3-1 sets against their opponent in the second match between them held on Friday in Mikra.

Compared to Thursday’s match, the federal coach, Apostolos Oikonomou, had only Asimina Nikologianni in the starting line-up, who played two sets as a diagonal, while Olga Strandzali played for the first time, competing as a libero instead of Marianna Belia.

The National team was again excellent in the block with 16, with Bakodimou being the top scorer. The new changes made with Tani and Tsitsigianni and the improved image of Switzerland brought the score down, but in the fourth set, even though the difference narrowed and we reached 20-20, Greece prevailed.

The third and final friendly between the two teams will be held on Saturday at 19:00 in Mikra.

After the end of the match, the federal coach said: “Within the context of the competitive pace that I wanted to give to all the girls, I am satisfied with our image in the second friendly as well. The result does not concern me, since I am interested in the improvement of the team. And that’s exactly what I want to see tomorrow in the third match.”
