Victory for the Men’s National Volleyball team against Switzerland

The men’s national volleyball team started their friendly match against Switzerland with a victory. The representative group defeated its opponent in Larissa 3-1 sets and showed its first signs after a month of training with Kostas Christofidelis on the bench.

The federal coach kept the same six throughout the match, using only Spyros Chandrinos in the first and fourth sets as a service change. In the match, Thanasis Protopsaltis and Alexandros Raptis fought on the wings, Dimitris Mouchlias on the diagonal, Thodoris Voulkidis and Demosthenes Linardos on the center, Markos Galiotos on the passer and Aris Chandrinos on the libero.

Mouchlias with 20 points and Protopsaltis with 19 points were the first scorers for the National Team, with Raptis adding 14. Next to them was Voulkidis with 9 points.

The match could have ended with a 3-0 set in favor of Greece, as the third set was decided in the final. After 22-22, the Swiss led 24-22, Protopsaltis reduced it to 23-24, but then the guests took the side out and reduced it to 2-1 set.

In the fourth set, the National team led 8-4, 16-12 and Raptis was the one who made the final 25-18.

2nd set: 8-6, 16-13, 21-17, 25-19

3rd set: 4-8, 15-16, 20-21, 23-25

4th set: 8-4, 16-12, 21-15, 25-18

*Greece’s points came from 6 aces, 58 attacks, 6 blocks and 28 opponent errors and Switzerland’s points came from 7 aces, 51 attacks, 3 blocks and 24 opponent errors.
