Olympiacos bang with Kakkari

In another excellent transfer, Erasitechnis Olympiacos proceeded, strengthening the men’s polo department.

The “red and white” brought back the international fantasist, Kostas Kakkariwho used to play in the powerful Croatian team, Jug Dubrovnik.

OLYMPIAN S.F.P. announces the start of his collaboration with Kostas Kakaris. The international winger (born 2/7/1999, 1.98m) has signed his new contract and returns to the roster of the club’s Men’s polo team.

It is the second “term” of Kostas Kakaris with the red and white cap, after the three years 2018-21. In his first three years at Thrylos, he won as many doubles in Greece (2019, 2020, 2021) and two Super Cups (2019, 2020), a total of eight trophies!

In the next two years (2021-23), he played for Jug Dubrovnik, with whom he won a Croatian championship (2022), two Cups (2022, 2023) and an Adriatic League title, in 2023.

In the summer of 2023, he moved to Pro Reco and won the Italian championship, while competing in the Final-4 of the LEN Champions League in Malta. In fact, he was named the top scorer of the top European inter-club competition and “entered” the top seven!

Kostas Kakaris is considered one of the leading fundamentalists worldwide. A key member of our National Men’s polo team, who participated in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. With the National Team, he has won two “big” medals, the silver at the 2023 Fukuoka World Championships and the bronze at the 2022 Budapest World Championships. In 2024, it was included in the top seven of the Doha World Championship (Greece placed fourth), as well as in the 2022 event.

With the Young Men’s National Team, in the past, he has been crowned world champion and European champion.

The statement of Kostas Kakaris: “I am excited to return to Olympiacos, a team with a long history! With the completion of the 100 years of the club, my goal is to help the team to claim all the titles, inside and outside Greece”.
