The newly formed Stoiximan Super League team has officially announced that the 22-year-old Italian midfielder is the 14th transfer ahead of the new season!
The young midfielder started his career in the infrastructure departments of the “Neroverdi”, while at a professional level, he has played in Serie C with the shirt of Montevarsi, Cararese and Gubbio on loan.

“Athens Kallithea FC announces the signing of Italian midfielder Alessandro Mercati from Italian Serie B side Sassuolo.
Mercati, 22, is considered a valuable talent to emerge from Sassuolo’s academy and has already made 98 total appearances during his loan spells in Serie C over the past three seasons.
Born in Castelnovo ne’ Monti in the Reggio Emilia region, Mercati rose through the academy of neighboring Sassuolo, coming through the U-15, U-17, U-19 and Primavera teams. Mercati signed his first professional contract in May 2020, and was selected by Roberto De Zerbi for his first-team squad for a Serie A match against Fiorentina in July 2020 at the age of 18.
After an outstanding season with the club’s Primavera in 2020/21, Mercati gained his first professional experience on loan at Montevarchi, making 37 appearances with one goal and six assists in Serie C at the age of 19.
Two more successful loan spells followed for Mercati in Serie C over the last two seasons, where he made 25 appearances with two assists at Carrerese in 2022/23 and 36 appearances with two goals and three assists at Gubbio in 2023/24, helping the teams to finish fourth and fifth, respectively, and qualify for the promotion playoffs.
