A fairly harsh disqualification from the continuation of the Cincinnati Open was suffered in the early hours of Friday (16/08) by Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Despite the fact that the Greek tennis player took a 1-0 set lead, and even found himself serving for the win in the third, however, he could not get the win, losing to 2-1 sets (3-6, 6-4, 7-5) from the British Jack Draper.
THE Stephen started the match well and thanks to a break of his opponent’s serve he took a 4-1 lead before winning the first set 6-3. The second set it was perfectly balanced, with both tennis players holding their serve relatively comfortably, going game-game into the match. All that changed in the end, when the 22-year-old Briton, No.28 in the world ranking, “broke” Tsitsipas’ serve for 6-4.
The same scenario continued in the third and last set, where after a great battle, the 9th game went to the hands of the Greek tennis player No.11 in the world ranking, through a break for the 5-4 advantage! And while o Tsitsipas served for the win, Draper’s response was surprising, “erasing” the break with a love game!
Evolution that it seems influenced Stefanoswho lost the next two sets with 40-15, thus knowing the exclusion from the “32” phase of the tournament.
