It was forced, but Bayern Munich got the Wolfsburg ball!

by

OR Bayern Munich extended its unbeaten streak against the Wolfsburg in 19 matches without defeat, after each other 2-3 and at the same time he made his Bundesliga debut on the right, in Vincent Kompany’s debut.

The Bavarians were in every way superior to their opponent in the first half and it is typical that they had three chances to score until… the 13th minute. With Grabara saying “no” to the efforts of Gnabry, Kane and Kimmich, maintaining a clean sheet for the “wolves”.

However, in the 20th minute, he did not manage to avoid the… looming 0-1, as from a lateral execution by Boe and a nice collaboration of Olisse, Kane, the first cross from the right and Musiala with a close projection, opened the scoring for Bayern!

The visitors protested loudly – and probably rightly so – for a penalty to Kaminski on the half-hour mark, but instead Kane was shown a yellow card for protesting, to go to the dressing room with the ‘poor man’ according to image precedence.

In fact, Wolfsburg took their opponent by surprise, as at the start of the second half, Boe unjustifiably pushed Thomas inside the area, referee Zibert awarded a penalty, Meyer hit the target and out of nowhere, the score became 1-1, in the 47th minute minute!

With Bayern missing a chance to make it 1-2 in the 50th minute as Grabara saved Gnabry’s deflected shot and the home side saw Neuer’s right-hand post denied by Mayer for 2-1 in the immediate next minute…

A second mistake, this time by Kim outside and to the right of his own area, led to Wimmer’s steal and Mayer’s second personal goal, along with the reversal in favor of Wolfsburg, in the 55th minute!

At the time, Grabara was again in his place, to interfere with Musiala’s effort two minutes later, while the ball also found the left post of his goal.

Miller’s entry in the 65th minute marked his 474th appearance in a German league match, now Bayern’s record holder, but also the equalizer for Vincent Kompany’s team, with Kaminski’s own goal, in the same phase, from a corner kick !

On the other hand, the Saxons saw Behrens come up against Neuer, after Upamecano’s mistake, in the 73rd minute, but the newly-arrived winger’s shot went wide, missing the chance to make it 3-2…

While the “one of you and one of mine” continued, with Kane bringing the ball down nicely, turning and shooting into the area, but Kaminski countered him, making it 2-3 in the 80th minute.

Finally, the Bavarians got a third goal two minutes later when, on a quick counter-attack, Müller stood up, passed to Kane, who ‘smashed’ the ball down the right, with the oncoming Gnabry sending it into the far corner of Grabara and assisted of the beam in the net!
