THE Hercules beat Philippou Verias 75-53, in a friendly game, which took place behind closed doors in Ivanofeio.
Petar Aleksic’s side, starting with a starting five of Stamatis, Mastroiannopoulos, Paparega, Malesevic and Kotta, got off to a strong start and led 17-5 midway through the first quarter, which ended 20-10.
Philippos Verias reduced it to six, 20-14, but the hosts, with Malesevic as the protagonist, restored the difference to double digits (26-16), keeping it at these levels until the last minutes of the half. Paparegas with a three-pointer and Malesevic with a basket and a foul made it 44-27, with the visitors making it 44-30, which was the score of the first twenty minutes.
Improving their defense in the second half and with Kesar providing several solutions offensively, the home team opened the gap even more and with individual scores of 15-4 in the third period found themselves at +25, 59-34 at 30′.
The image of the match remained the same in the fourth quarter, with the difference exceeding 30 points (75-44) and the Veriotes dropping it to 22 at the end.
* Nikos Dimalis did not compete with HERAKLIS, who is dealing with an injury problem in his right ankle. Nikos Paparegas sprained his left ankle in the third quarter and did not play the rest of the game.
