Osman: “Panathinaikos was an easy choice – We are the best and we are going for the back-to-back”

THE Chedi Osman was his last transfer acquisition Panathinaikou AKTORwith the Turkish forward successfully passing the necessary medical and ergometric tests yesterday, being now ready to be put at the disposal of Ergin Ataman.

Speaking to “Basketnews”, the former NBA player referred to reasons why he chose the “greens”, despite the interest in him from many NBA and Euroleague teamswhile, he stood once again on the goals he has set with his new team.

On his goals for the new season: “I’m here to conquer the Euroleague again. We have a great squad, but this season will be more difficult due to strong competition and significant transfers from other teams. But, of course, we’re the best and we’re going for the back-to-back.”

For the selection of Panathinaikos: “For me, it was an easy choice. I have known the team for many years and played against them when I was younger. There was interest from other Euroleague teams as well, but it wasn’t a difficult decision. I spoke several times with the coach, Ergin Ataman, who was my coach when I was younger. I am happy to be a member of Panathinaikos”.

Why he decided to leave the NBA: “There were several NBA teams that were in contact, but we didn’t come to an agreement because of tax issues. I’m coming to a team with seven Euroleague titles and this year will be special.”
