Ataman: “I saw the passion Greeks have for basketball – I thank Dimitris Giannakopoulos for his support”

As part of the press conference, the awards for last year’s championship season were held, where the top players of the completed year were awarded.

Among them his coach Panathinaikos AKTOR, Ergin Ataman, who received the best coach award. The Turkish coach of the “greens” thanked both the team and its president, while he also spoke about the presence of Slukas, Papapetrou and Mitoglou in last year’s dream season of the “clover”.

Ergin Ataman’s statements in detail:



“A year has passed since I came to Greece. I saw the passion that Greeks have for basketball and it is a great honor to have this award. I thank my players and partners. But most of all I thank Dimitris Giannakopoulos for the support and all the supplies he gave us.

It is very important that for this success we had three Greeks and one was named MVP of the Final Four. It is very important for Greek basketball.”



On his part, Mr Jerian Grantwho received the award for the best defender of last year’s championship said: “We worked hard as a team and I enjoy this award. It means a lot to me. Thanks”.

Regarding, the Neokles Avdalas who was named best young player of last season, said: “I would like to thank those who voted for me. It’s my honor. I thank Panathinaikos and Karditsa, who helped me to improve”.

Finally, O Vasilis Toliopouloswho after his dream season in a Mars shirt, was voted last season’s most improved player, said: “It is an honor and a pleasure to receive this award. I thank the team, my teammates and my coach for helping me. I wish we have health and a very good season.”
