by

Lorenzo Pirola set the goal of winning the championship this year with Olympiakos, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary. The Italian ace spoke to Gazzetta Dello Sport and pointed out the reason he accepted the offer from Piraeus and what he wants to achieve in general in his career.

See in detail what Pirola said:

On his decision to sign for the Conference League holders:

Was I sad to leave Italy? A little, yes, mostly because we are happy here. But I want to win here: this year Olympiacos turns 100 years old and the goal is to win the championship. I will be the second Italian to do it after Leandro Greco. It is a source of pride. And when they approached me, I didn’t hesitate.”

For his dream:

“To win a World Cup with Italy. And the title with Olympiakos”.

On the time he worked with Antonio Conte at Inter:

“My best memories at Inter are the two championships I won with the under-16 and under-17 teams and my Serie A debut against Spal. Conte gave me my debut. We were a very strong team: me, Esposito, Oristano. Inter was my life for a long time.”

For his presence in the Italian national team of Hope:

“The captain’s armband is a source of pride and I won’t hide it: we want to win the European Championship. In the last two, we were eliminated once in the quarter-finals and once in the group stage. I would like to finish this journey that started in the under-15 team with a win, I will give it my all.”
