The president of SEGAS had a meeting on Tuesday morning (15/10) with the aim of a “clean” sport. Sophia Sakorafaand the Commander of EOCAN, Grigoris Leon.
At the meeting they had at the Federation’s offices, they discussed the issue of banned substances in sports, with Mrs. Sakoraffa stressing that a great battle is being fought to combat this global scourge.

The president of SEGAS, Sofia Sakorafa, held a meeting with the Governor of EOCAN, Dr. Grigori Leonta, at the Federation’s offices.
During the talks between the two sides, Mrs. Sakorafa referred to the great efforts of SEGAS to combat the use of prohibited substances in sports and Dr. Leon to the work of EOCAN and the strategic planning based on information, prevention and education.
After the meeting, the president of SEGAS emphasized: “With the administration of EOCAN and personally with the commander of the National Anti-Doping Organization, we maintain excellent relations and are allies and fellow travelers in the fight against doping.
Proof of our stated attitude towards prohibited substances is the presence of EOCAN samplers in all Panhellenic championships and the joint actions and seminars to inform athletes and coaches. Ahead of the new racing season, we will continue our common fight for clean sport with even greater fervor and more actions.”
For his part, the Governor of EOCAN stated: “I met with the president of SEGAS, Sofia Sakorafa, in the context of my contacts with the presidents of the sports federations. I congratulated her on her re-election to the oldest sports federation of Greece and I wished her a creative term full of successes for classical sports. All together with trust and cooperation we fight for a sport with values, without substances”.
The two sides pledged to continue their direct cooperation with the common goal of clean sport.
The meeting was attended by the general secretary of SEGAS, Giorgos Giatrudakis. EOKAN’s legal advisor, Giorgos Panourgias and EOKAN’s education manager, Christos Papoulias.
