In the 2nd capacity group for its qualifying draw World Cup of 2026 managed to be – apart from shocking unexpectedness – the National team of Greece with its series of victories and especially after the two against England and Ireland!

As far as the draw process is concerned, they will be drawn twelve groups of five teams which will meet at home and away, with the ticket for the final phase taking only the team that will finish on top of each group.
The 12 group runners-up will participate in the playoffs, which will be held in March 2026, with 16 teams. In addition to the second-placed 12 of Europe’s qualifying groups, the top four teams of the 2024-25 Nations League, which have not finished the European group stage in first or second place, will also take part.
In the playoffs there will be singles semi-finals and they will follow them single finals within the same international window. The 16 teams that will enter the playoffs will be drawn into four playoff paths, each of which will include four teams.
