OR Euroleague admits that the referees made a fool of themselves in Red Star’s match with Barcelona (94-98). In the report he publishes on whistling, he talks about seven wrong decisions of the referees (the German Lottermoser, the Italian Rossi and the Greek Tsarouha), with four of them being in the last 30 seconds of the fourth period.

Specifically, it is reported that the referees had to attribute a foul by Veseli to Boloboi with 29.3” remaining. They were also… missed an eight-second foul by Red Star after a dumble, which they overturned after instant replay review, but were still wrong, with the game starting with possession for Barcelona in the attacking half.

The wrong decisions in detail:

-With 1:56 left, Boloboi was fouled for a step, which was not called.

-With 1:14 left, Dos Santos was flagged for a foul by Jan Vesely.

-With 1:12 left, Dos Santos was trying to shoot when Vesely cut him down, but was wrongly fouled.

-With 29.3” left, Boloboi collected a defensive rebound, with Vesely getting in the face but not fouled.

-After the dunk won by Boloboi in the 20th minute, the referees had to assign an eight-second violation from Red Star.

-Referees wrongly resorted to Instant Replay to give the eight second violation.

-The ball was wrongly awarded to Barcelona with a throw-in in the attacking half after the eight-second infringement.
