With a press release, the Greek police informed that in checks carried out before the start of the AEK-PAOK match (1-1) for the 8th matchday Stoiximan Super League eight arrests were made. The arrested fans were in possession of drugs and a knife.
In fact, a ninth arrest was made with a 27-year-old who entered the field after the referee’s final whistle.

“In the context of a football match last night in New Philadelphia, intensive checks were carried out by the police officers assigned to the smooth conduct of the match and the prevention of sports violence, during which -9- people were arrested (-7- nationals and – 2- foreigners), aged between 18 and 33 years.
The Northeast Attica Security Sub-Directorate and the Nea Philadelphia-Nea Chalkidona Security Department filed a case against them for violation of the legislation on addictive substances and on weapons.
Specifically, in a physical check carried out on the above in pre-checks before the start of the match, -8- of the defendants were caught in possession of small quantities of raw cannabis, while a 29-year-old foreigner possessed a knife with a blade length of -6- centimeters.
In addition, a 27-year-old citizen was arrested who, after the end of the match, entered the playing area and headed towards the stadium’s bellows.
The case file was submitted to the competent Prosecutor”.
