Herbert: “Olympiacos is a major force every year in the Euroleague – Let’s get the rebounds”

Olympiacos continues its obligations in the Euroleague tomorrow (25/10, 21:45), as it will face Bayern, in the context of the 5th game of the competition.

In view of this confrontation, Mr Gordon Herbertcoach of the Bavarians, emphasized that the “red and white” are a very important force in European basketball, and emphasized the need for his team to secure the rebounds in order to have its chance.

In detail what he said:

On whether Olympiacos is the most difficult opponent so far: “Olympiacos is a major force every year in the EuroLeague. It will be important for us to get defensive and offensive rebounds to have our chances. We have to be careful with the ball in the half court. I don’t know if they are the best opponent so far, but every EuroLeague game is difficult and a battle. We have to come out and win those duels and fight.”

For home advantage: “Playing basketball at SAP Garden is great. We had great support from our fans and in both games he was our sixth man. There will again be an amazing atmosphere together with Olympiakos fans. It has a fanatical audience, just like us, and that will make the atmosphere special.”

For the problems: “Without Gifai and Lucic, we recently had a ten-man rotation. Without those two we obviously limited the rotation a bit. It’s not up to me to extend it, but it’s because of the way the players play. If they play well, they play. Otherwise, no. Carsen Edwards has had a very good start to the EuroLeague season.
