by

After two weeks, Mr Colossus of Rhodes returns to his European duties, welcoming tonight (7:30 p.m., CosmoteSport 4) at Klisto in Kallithea Karsijaka for the 3rd matchday of the Basketball Champions League.

The Rhodians have not started this season well at all, counting just one win in six official games in Greece and Europe. Last Saturday, they touched the home win over him Mars in an improbable match in which they led even with +19, however, in the end they experienced… a bitter defeat with a score of 85-84 due to Tyler Woodbury’s buzzer beater two-pointer.

At BCL level, they count two defeats in as many first matches, as, in the premiere, they lost with 84-54 by Saint-Quentinwhile, in their first home European game at the renovated Rhodes Indoor Stadium, they experienced a crushing score 71-47 from the powerful Tenerife.

Tonight, Giorgos Sigala’s side face another high hurdle, with Karsiyaka being one of Turkey’s classic powerhouses. In the BCL group, the Smyrna team has a record of 1-1, while in the league of their country they have a record of 2-2. She stands out for her aggressive style of play, it is indicative that this year she has exceeded 80 points four times and 100 twice!

London Perantes spoke to the official website of Colossus Rhodes, expressing his excitement for the new challenge that the team from the “Island of Knights” has to face, referring to the importance of these strong matches for the club.

“We are excited to have another opportunity to face a very good team on our home field and in front of our home crowd. We look forward to the next challenge and what we strive to do is improve every time we step on the floor. So this will be another step in our journey through the season. I think it will be a good and fun game.”
