SOCCA World Cup 2024: Greece learned opponents

by

The draw for the groups of the Mini Soccer World Cup, SoccaWorld Cup 2024 has been carried out with all solemnity. Greece was drawn in Group C along with Belgium, Cyprus, Kuwait and Iraq and is required to take one of the first two places in the group in order to be able to qualify for the last 16 of the tournament.

The group can only be considered easy as it includes perhaps the strongest Asian team after Kazakhstan (Iraq), Belgium who last year inflicted Greece’s only defeat until the quarter-finals and the always worthy Cyprus who last year managed and reached the round of 16 organization.

Theoretically, the blue and white team is the favorite for the first place and due to ranking, but this remains to be proven on the field. The team’s coach Giorgos Bastakis emphasized: “The group has pitfalls and we must be fully focused from the first minute of the preparation. We have good and motivated teams against us, while only two of the five qualify. At this level there are no easy games, after all we all saw in the recent Socca Aegean Cup the results of all the teams that had no cohesion between them. The details make the difference.”

At the ceremony that took place in Muscat, Oman, the CEO of the World Minisoccer Federation Thanos Papadopoulos emphasized that: “Oman was a strategic choice as the opening to the Middle East market had to take place in a country that is ready to host the top event of the planet in mini football. A beautiful country, with an audience that knows the sport well and a political leadership that directly and indirectly with partners and major sponsors ensure the quality of the event at the highest level”

In the other groups, group G stood out, where some of the best teams in the world will fight: The Champion Kazakhstan, England, the mighty Romania, the terrible quality Uruguay and Sudan who won the impressions this year in the African competitions this year.
