Tsitsipas: “I’m more proud of my attitude than my tennis”

by

O Stefanos Tsitsipas he showed character and even though he was behind in the sets, he bent his resistance Serundolo and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Paris Masters, where he will face Alexander Zverev.

The Greek tennis player, in a special interview he gave after the end of the match, talked about the stubbornness he showed against the Argentine that helped him qualify, while also referring to his personal life.

In detail:

About the match, Tsitsipas said:I’m more proud of my attitude than my tennis. Today on court I enjoyed the game and was able to go out there and fight after losing the 1st set. I felt fresh and like I’m going to be a new Stefanos from the 2nd set and it showed. Despite losing the set I felt like I was still in the driver’s seat and that I could change things. As soon as I got the first break in the 2nd set, I instantly felt the whole dynamic of the match change».

On the change he made in the 2nd and 3rd sets on his returns, he said:It would be interesting to see the statistics behind this as well. I caused an imbalance in my opponent’s serve, and by that I mean that he had a relative balance and stability in his serve, which also gave him a confidence. But as soon as I made this adjustment I felt things change. Maybe he was a little more nervous, but he started making mistakes. This immediately gave me confidence that I can do more on the second serve and that I am in control».

On the occasion of Halloween, which is celebrated today, Stefanos revealed that he chose the Adidas outfit, which is the “Warrior’s” outfit, while at the end of the interview in the studio the partner of the Greek champion also appeared, Paula Bandosawho was behind the cameras.

I think he was excellent today, especially, as he said, in the spiritual part. He fought every moment, made some adjustments after the 1st set and they were the right ones. I’m his girlfriend, I don’t want to talk too much about tennis (laughs), but I have to say that I’m proud of how she fought and especially mentally, it’s never easy and she did great” said the Spanish woman.
